The Area Sales Rep, reports directly to the ownership team and is responsible for completing all tasks related to account maintenance and development. These tasks include developing a sales plan, generating sales, finding new accounts, maintaining relationships with existing accounts, checking product integrity, proactive follow-ups, and coordinating and attending events.  This position requires an individual to have an outstanding passion for our beer, excellent communication skills, and a work ethic to match.

In addition, the Sales Representative will partner with the Production Team to ensure that all orders are packed and loaded correctly for delivery by our distributors.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Head of Operations and upper management to develop sales goals and strategies

  • Increase number of draft accounts and shelf SKUs at current accounts

  • Develop new accounts (on and off-premise) and build out those new relationships

  • Proactively contact accounts daily to follow up and schedule account visits, orders, and ensure account satisfaction.

  • Educate, present, and provide samples to partners and accounts on new and existing product lines

  • Visit accounts routinely within assigned territory

  • Maintain account database and provide weekly reports to Head of Operations

  • Work with accounts to ensure glassware and beer lines are cleaned

  • Work with team to stay informed on upcoming production schedules

  • Meet monthly & quarterly to analyze and track sales goals and targets

  • Manage individual administrative duties and paperwork professionally

  • Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local laws

  • Develop, coordinate and execute brewery-endorsed and promotional events

    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred

  • Two years experience in brewery sales, beer wholesaler sales

  • Strong planning and organizational skills

  • Extremely self-motivated

  • Ability to manage time and priorities in an effective and efficient manner

  • Natural ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners, accounts, and other employees

  • Ability to navigate difficult situations with partners, accounts, and other employees

  • Strong computer skills (Google Business Suite - docs, sheets, slides, Gmail, pipedrive a plus etc.)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to track and monitor progress in all identified accounts

  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server a plus

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Have reliable transportation

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs

  • Ability to occasionally manipulate 165 lb kegs with or without dolly

  • Ability to occasionally transport 165 lbs on a dolly

  • Ability to travel

  • Flexible hours

  • Must, must, must love beer – tasting beer, talking about beer, sharing a beer and surrounding yourself with others who do as well


    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
    Up to 100% travel time may be required

    COMPENSATION:
    Competitive compensation with an incentive-based sales commission structure that shall be commensurate with experience.  Base salary plus commission.
